Description of climb and route choices

Climbing route White Sentinel Charity Climb: Punta de Vacas (2.500 m.a.s.l.), towards Pampa de Leñas via the Vacas Valley (3.100 m.a.s.l.), towards Casa de Piedras (3.800 m.a.s.l.), and finally our base camp in Plaza Argentina (4.200 m.a.s.l). The approach will have a duration of aprox. 4 days. There will be resting days in base camp. 

From Plaza Argentina there will be installed 3 altitude camps (Camp 1, 2 and 3) at aprox. 5.100 m.a.s.l., 5.900 m.a.s.l. and 6.300 m.a.s.l., before the summit attempt. The hauling of equipment and food to the high camps take aprox. 7 days. The climbing route follows the "False Polish traverse" on the north east side of the mountain (marked in blue, "via dei Polacchi" on this map), crossing over to the normal route from Plaza de Mulas at aprox. 6.500 m.a.s.l. 

Summit attempt from camp 3 after aprox. 15 days of expedition. 

The expedition lasts 30 days in total, from 20th of November 2013 to 20th of December 2013, with actual climbing on the mountain for aprox. 20 days. Summit is estimated to 15th of December 2013.
